Artist Statement
In “Sands of Time: Nomadic Chronicles,” I present an art installation that honors the enduring spirit and rich heritage of Nomadic life in the deserts of the Gulf Arab countries. This modern interpretation of traditional art forms combines historical photographs, painting, and photo collage on original camel bones.
‘Sands of Time’ symbolizes the dynamic nature of Nomadic life and serves as a tangible link to the arduous journeys, traditions, and untold stories of the Nomadic people. The camel bones, sourced directly from the environment that has shaped Nomadic life, represent resilience, adaptation, and the enduring nature of a culture deeply connected to the land.
Integrated historical photographs within the installation transport viewers to pivotal moments in the Nomads’ journey through the desert. The interplay of painting and photo-collage techniques adds depth and texture, creating a visual narrative that transcends the limitations of time and space. “Sands of Time” encourages viewers to actively explore the layers of Nomadic culture, making it a collaborative effort between the artist and the audience.
This installation is a bridge between the past and the present, providing a visceral encounter with the Nomadic way of life. “Sands of Time: Nomadic Chronicles” celebrates resilience, pays tribute to the timeless beauty of the vast desert landscapes, and invites reflection on the rich tapestry of Nomadic culture in the Gulf Arab countries.
