Artist Statement
In “Silent Wars: Militarism’s Echo on Persian Heritage,” I visually depict the impact of militarism on Iranian people with dogmatic religious beliefs in contemporary Iran. Through my photo compositions, I portray daily life within dogmatic religious lifestyles and showcase the remnants of Persian culture, symbolizing the effects of war on the once-vibrant cultural legacy. Using digital decoupage techniques and a contemporary vision, I aim to reveal the layers of Persian heritage and life affected by the echoes of war and militarism.
The series highlights the tension between faith and identity and emphasizes the need for empathy and understanding in a society shaped by militaristic ideologies. It invites viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between preserving cultural identity and recognizing resilience within the collective narrative. Through “Silent Wars,” I aim to foster nuanced conversations about the impact of militarism on Persian heritage, acknowledging the fragility of cultural identity in the face of militaristic ideologies.
